Hotel Fasano Salvador evaluations
Fasano inaugurates first unit in the northeast
Fasano Salvador Hotel is born from the harmony between the Group’s sophisticated style and the relaxed atmosphere of Salvador. The building, former headquarters of the newspaper A Tarde, is a legitimate representative of the Art Deco style, which in turn has a recognized architectural value.
In its seventh hotel development, the Fasano Group completes another national expansion project with the same standard of excellence already known in the brand’s hotels and restaurants. The opening of the Fasano Salvador Hotel brings to the Bahian capital the personality and excellence of the Group, internationally recognized as synonymous with quality and impeccable service.
The project inaugurates a new concept of luxury in hospitality in Bahia, where discretion and sophistication are the common thread of customer service, maintaining the already known standard of excellence. This is the first hotel installed by Fasano in a historic building listed by the Institute of Artistic and Cultural Heritage (IPAC) as a Cultural Heritage of Bahia and will operate in the sumptuous building that hosted for 45 years the first headquarters of the newspaper A Tarde. Located in Castro Alves Square, in Salvador’s Historic Center, the hotel opened its doors in December 2018.
At the entrance, the lobby has been restored, retaining the original coating of the walls and floor, faithfully reproduced in Carrara marble and Green Alpe granite, carrying the typical Art Deco status. Two antique Bahia silver chandeliers were adapted to the environment. The interior of the hotel combines the refinement of the Fasano brand with elements that keep the building’s history alive, using dark woods reminiscent of Rosewood, natural wood from Bahia. The regional aesthetics were also valued with the mixture of fabrics and textures, in different shades of blue, with the use of linen and lace. The 11-story Fasano Salvador Hotel has 70 rooms (divided into Superior Apartment, Luxury and Sea Luxury, Suite, Junior Suite and Luxury Suite), two-areas Fasano restaurant and air-conditioned wine cellar, rooftop with leisure area and business center with 3 rooms.
The custom rooms range in size from 26m² to 73m². Blue predominates in the details of the decoration, such as rugs, fabrics and handmade ceramics. Apartment 106, former office of the A Tarde newspaper presidency, has retained the original hardwood floor and rosewood panels, as well as the restored plaster adornments. The design of the bedroom doors, also original, has been kept. The upper windows of the doors were also kept, transformed into lamps.
An extremely important differential is the acoustic treatment, applied to windows and doors, to provide greater comfort to guests.
The rooftop of Fasano Salvador has a privileged view of All Saints Bay, one of the Bahian capital postcards. The place features a wooden deck with Azul Bahia granite pool, bar, Fitness Center and Wellness SPA. The Spa is a separate attraction with rituals that revitalize body and mind to ensure total well-being. With three massage rooms and a wet sauna, the space is signed by massage and holistic therapist Fabrícia Nogueira, who created a unique menu of treatments for the Bahian experience. In addition to the guests, bystanders will also be able to enjoy the services by appointment.
The gastronomic experience of Fasano Restaurant brings the legacy of Italian cuisine that bears the signature of restauranteur Rogério Fasano. The menu in two languages (Portuguese and English) is similar to that of São Paulo’s restaurant, located inside the Hotel Fasano São Paulo.
The Fasano Restaurant in Salvador unit offers some of the flagships of classic Italian cuisine: Costoletta Alla Milanese, Filetto di Manzoalla Rossini, Veal Ossobuco with White Wine and Herbs and Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. The kitchen features the Fasano brand DNA, dedicated to Italian classics, as well as local Bahian dishes by Tereza Paim, a renowned Bahian chef.
The approximately 250m² space is divided into two environments, with a central bar and a ceiling height of 4.7m. The original aesthetics of the 1930s were preserved, with emphasis on the restoration of the ceiling. The walls are lined with banana tree leaves, and in the bar, old sugar-making pieces were turned into prominent chandeliers with nickel-plated brass tops. One of the great differentials is the Climatized Wine Cellar, which is accessed through a metal spiral staircase, original to the building. The place also functions to host private events, seating up to 06 people, and the wine list features a wide variety of labels.
