Gastronomy, history and a beautiful view of the All Saints Bay

Discover the space located in Santo Antônio Além do Carmo

When seen from the outside, the house number 6 on Carmo Street doesn’t look that special. Upon entering, however, get ready for a wine corridor, caves with ancient stone walls and a more than spectacular view of the All Saints Bay. The Antique Bistrô is an excellent tour for those who want to mix gastronomy and history in one place.

Antique Bistrô opened on February 3, 2021, was closed due to the pandemic and returned to work in April of the same year. The purpose of the place is to provide a different experience from other bars and restaurants in the city. Being an old mansion in Santo Antônio Além do Carmo, the establishment spent the entire year of 2020 under renovation and today it even has a structure for weddings.

By the way, marriage proposals there are quite common, and Antique’s employees actively participate in organizing this event. So, be prepared, because you can witness a great moment. The space is even available for those who wish to close the house and hold a private event for up to 80 people. As it is a colonial mansion, its structure is old and narrow, not being able to hold a large event.

At the entrance of the house, right in the first environment, you will find a bar, where drinks are made. Passing by the bar, as you go down, on the left side is the glassed-in kitchen, where customers can see how the food is made. Then, you will pass through a corridor, stopping at an air-conditioned room with tables and chairs and a view of the All Saints Bay. Right in front, the house has three arcades, two of which have caves, and the other is a wine corridor, a very pleasant place, with bottles of the drink on the walls.

Do you think it’s over? No! Passing through the arcades, Antique Bistrô still has a balcony overlooking the sea and a deck, which is like a large backyard, also overlooking the Bay. The place has environments with historic walls. It is estimated that they are more than 200 years old, being a very rustic environment, with tatami mats and low tables, to sit on the floor and without shoes.

The food and drinks of the house are diverse. In addition to snacks and individual dishes, the Antique Bistrô also offers dishes to share, at a great cost benefit, which serve up to three people. The house’s differentials are the smoked rib balls, six units for R$ 36.90, and the tapioca dice, for R$ 26.90.

The place also has weekly promotions, such as 20% off wines and getting some tidbits with ordering a bucket of beer. In addition, Antique’s service is also special. All waiters have undergone a training course at the National Service for Commercial Training (Senac) and are prepared to receive the public.
