4 – La Pasta Gialla

A success in Pituba, the restaurant La Pasta Gialla has, since the end of 2021, a second unit in Bahia in Castro Alves Square. The house, which has a menu signed by the São Paulo chef Sergio Arno, has classics from the Italian house and a special menu with snacks to share while watching the sunset over the All Saints Bay from the balcony, at the feet of the poet Castro Alves. Right there at Solar do Unhão and Gamboa
There, right next to the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, there are two Bahian food restaurants that are worth a visit. One, within the Solar do Unhão community, and the other, within Gamboa. Both have a great moqueca, in addition to being in a place with a privileged view of the All Saints Bay. The cool thing about this experience is getting to know the residents and their stories, as well as, of course, tasting delicious food and taking beautiful pictures.
5 – Re-restaurante Dona Suzana
At the Solar do Unhão Community you will meet Dona Suzana. She is a special person, a caring character, with a big smile and many stories to tell. The moqueca is always served with the catch of the day. There is no menu. A valuable tip is to arrange with Suzana someone from the community to pick you up near MAM, so you can go together and find the restaurant quickly.
6 – Bar da Mônica
To get to Bar da Mônica, in Gamboa de Baixo, the tip is to go by boat – you can walk around the community, but believe me, the “mini” boat trip is worth a lot. Entrance is also through MAM. You must go to the rocky beach, where there is a SUP school. There you can get a boat. The restaurant is simple, it is located on a pier and has a staircase that leads to the sea. There is often a very loud sound, where residents, tourists and sailors gather. Try the lobster moqueca with shrimp and fish. Another tip is to stay until sunset, it will be worth every second!

One of the most beautiful views of Salvador is, without a doubt, the All Saints Bay. The place has a waterslide from where you can fall straight into the sea, an adult and a children’s fiber pool, a dock for boats and jet skis. 12 – Dendê Praia Bar
At the foot of Barra Lighthouse and next to the sea. The location of Dendê Praia Bar is as good as can be. The rhyme can even be a little exaggerated, but it’s true, especially when you try the delicacies sold on site – besides, of course, the cold beer. One of the most traditional bars in Salvador, founded in 1952, Cruz do Pascoal was once frequented by Gilberto Gil and appeared in films such as “O Pagador de Promessas”. 17 – Boca de Galinha
Located in the Plataforma neighborhood, in the suburb of Salvador, is the Boca de Galinha restaurant. The place is simple and has a diverse clientele, with locals and tourists from all corners. In addition to the good cuisine, practically all the tables have a privileged view of the Bay of Itapagipe.
Open for three decades, the restaurant serves delicious typical food. The menu is not fixed – every day they make a new one, by hand. São Diogo Fort was built in 1536, by the Portuguese grantee Francisco Pereira Coutinho, at the behest of King Dom João. One of the best-known beach restaurants in the city, the Lôro beach house network has existed since 1995 and has three units: Praia do Flamengo, Pedra do Sal and Stella Maris. The places have similar structures and are close to the sea.

34 – Mistura Contorno
The gastronomic delights of Mistura bring to their origins the Brazilian and Mediterranean cuisine. The ingredients are brought from the sea, and the flavors are accentuated in the recipes of chef Andréa Ribeiro. The sea is the inspiration, from where the fish go directly to the grills and, from there, to the customers’ tables.

36 – Pedra da Sereia
Relaxed and cozy, Pedra da Sereia bar and restaurant, in Rio Vermelho, has an open terrace next to the waterfront and live music. There have been great singers there since the 1980s.
Due to the privileged view, the place is very popular at sunset. It is a well decorated and super cozy place. In addition to the busy balcony, which has a beautiful view of the end of the Ondina sea or the beginning of Rio Vermelho neighborhood, the place has an internal part.

38 – Veleiro Restaurant
The Veleiro Restaurant stands out for its more than 50-year tradition, offering a refined menu of international cuisine and an excellent wine list. All this with a privileged view of the All Saints Bay, located on the first floor of the pier of the Yacht Clube da Bahia. Because it is surrounded by large glass windows, you have the feeling of being on the sea waters.
The menu, developed by chef Fernando Cerqueira, takes a tour of French, Italian, Spanish, Mediterranean and Bahian cuisines. With an international menu, with great regional influence, it has a little bit of everything.
The drinks are on account of Seu Orlando, an icon of the house. He has the gift of discovering which drink best suits the client’s taste. Orlando Alves Viana has been responsible for the house’s drinks for 45 years. He entered very close to the opening and is there to this day. 39 – Encantos da Maré
The Encantos da Maré restaurant, one of the delicious points of Bahian gastronomy, is the result of the determination of chef Deliene Mota, known as Deli. The place is next to the Church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, in a colonial mansion, and from its balcony you have a breathtaking view of Ribeira’s sea.
Among the most requested starters are the shrimp breaded in tapioca and the pineapple jam with pepper, made at the restaurant. The most requested main dishes are Terra e Mar – mashed manioc with curd cheese, where on one side is shrimp with sauce and on the other side is sundried meat with onions and bottled butter – and the seafood feijoada, a dish created by Deliene herself, which is a public success.
