What to do in 24 hours in Salvador. Check out the tips

Calm day on the beach

In this itinerary, you will wake up early and spend the day strolling across All Saints Bay. An Island in the suburb of Salvador has surprises that will make your trip unforgettable. There you will have a wonderful meal in a restaurant that also feeds the soul. The day ends with a sunset in the sea!

8:30 a.m. – Go by car to Contorno Avenue (Avenida Contorno)

The starting point is Bahia Marina where you and your group of friends will board a private boat. There are boats that fit 9 people (check capacity with sailor), so you can decide the itinerary you want to do, when and where to stop, and you’ll have more mobility and privacy. The way to this marina is by Contorno Avenue, a route with a breathtaking view of the All Saints Bay.

9:00 a.m. – Take a boat ride to Ilha dos Frades

Leaving Bahia Marina, at the beginning of the tour, you will see Mercado Modelo, Elevador Lacerda and Pelourinho from a different perspective: the High City silhouette seen from the sea. Then, a little ahead, Ponta do Humaitá.
Our tip is to go straight to Ilha dos Frades, at Ponta de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe. All requalified, this beach has just won the Blue Flag. It’s beautiful, organized and super-clean.

9:30 a.m. – Enjoy the Beach of Viração

Before docking, stop at Praia da Viração, shortly before reaching the Maritime Terminal of Praia de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe. This beach is deserted, has no tents or many people. It has a wooded mountain that forms a green wall seen from the sea.

9:45 a.m. – Arrival at Ilha dos Frades

Now you’re talking! Boat moored in the port and there you go visiting one of the five Blue Flag beaches of Brazil. It’s important to know that visitors pay a fee of R$ 10.00 to enter this part of the island, and the pier (maritime terminal of this beach) is open from 9am to 4pm, but you can land directly on the beach, in different hours, in points where there are no lifebuoys.

If you got curious to see Viração Beach, it is possible to go there walking. It’s a beautiful walk along the seashore. On the way, you can buy water or surrender to a seriguela roska. Get your poses ready as there will be photos and more photos.

12h30 – Lunch in Preta

Returning from the tour, your destination is Restaurante da Preta. The atmosphere is beautiful, all decorated with antiques, crafts, many plates. Each table is more beautiful than the other, everything prepared with much affection to receive the customers. Be sure to try the shrimp and octopus moqueca, the green coconut ice cream with tapioca and cane juice with ginger. Finally, a pineapple, honey, cloves, cinnamon and ginger tea. Everything is wonderful there! The menu already has many news. Remember: you have to book ahead!

2:00 p.m. – Church of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe

Leaving the gods and goddesses meal, take some time to see this beautiful beach from above. The church of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, built by the Portuguese in Ponta de Nossa Senhora in the 17th century, which was abandoned and collapsing, was totally recovered in 2007 by the Baía Viva Foundation. At the top of the ridge where it is located, an observation deck was installed, from where one of the most beautiful views of the All Saints Bay can be seen. At the back of the church there is a cemetery, a very common construction until the 19th century. It was necessary to rebuild, first, all the long staircase that gives access to the church.

3:00 p.m. – Loreto Beach

Returning to your boat, the next stop is Loreto Beach. From the sea, the first thing you see is the charming Church of Loreto, dating from the seventeenth century. The complete recovery of the Church, for example, has enormous symbolic value in the construction of the desired bridge linking culture to tourism. The building material around the church was carefully chosen to integrate smoothly with the existing square.

4:00 p.m. – Time to return: from the boat, enjoy the sunset of the Lower City.

Now just relax. The sunlight is changing and the sky is filled with a colors explosion. With a rested body and mind you are ready for an intense night. See what we have prepared for your night party.

Alternative fun night

The soteropolitan parties have a “highlander” mood. This is because, in many cases, they start very early, just after sunset, which is the case of this itinerary that begins with 3 incredible stops in the Historic Center. Then we go from bar to bar until we reach the famous “bohemian neighborhood” of Salvador, Rio Vermelho. In this case, it is better to put the sunglasses in your bag because there is a big chance you will only go back home when the sun comes up.

5:00 p.m. – Go to the Carnival House

This is a Cultural program for those who don’t admit coming to Salvador “just” to party. Those who visit the Historic Center of Salvador must get to know “Casa do Carnaval”, a museum created to tell the story of this Bahian party. The first Carnival museum tells the story of the merriment in a visual and sensory trip, with several thematic cuts of the party that is at the heart of popular culture, social transformations and the formation of the Bahian identity.

7:00 p.m. – Trying Cravinho

Leaving the museum, the sun will be gone, perfect time to “start the job”. Cravinho is one of those meeting places for both visitors and locals. Created in the 80’s, it is known for its infusions and its decoration. The most requested drink is the one that gives name to the place, made with cachaça, cloves, honey and lemon.

8:00 p.m. – Cultural Night with Folkloric Ballet

Don’t drink all the Cravinhos from the oak barrels, the night is just beginning. Walk through Pelourinho streets to Miguel Santana Theater. The Bahia Folkloric Ballet performances are passionate and energetic spectacles and only happen at night. A scenic language that captures, in its purest state, the folkloric manifestations of Bahia, its stories, habits, colors and influences.

9:30 p.m. – Good Drinks at Burlesque Bar and Restaurant

From Pelourinho you have some options. Burlesque is a bar located in a secular mansion in the neighborhood of Nazaré, near the bustling Joana Angélica Avenue (Avenida Joana Angélica). There is stage where Drag Queens performances and musical performances take place. If you get hungry, the tip is the dish called “nordestino”, with dried meat and cassava.

9:30 p.m. – Unmissable Drag Queens Show

Or you can go to ncora do Marujo. Your Tuesday nights will never be the same after you go to this bar that is in the iconic “Baixo Gomes”. It’s a super simple place, with people spreading along the sidewalk. The highlights are the Drag Queens’ performances and contests. The music is loud, the beer is cold, the fun is for sure. But calm down, the bar opens other days too… however, let’s be honest, Tuesday is special.

00h30 – Flirting and having fun in San and Amsterdam

Let’s go to RV! The coolest part of Rio Vermelho is that the bars, restaurants and nightclubs are all close to each other, and it’s possible to do everything by walking. If you are hungry or thirsty there are great options for all tastes and pockets. This neighborhood has several options for those who want to dance and listen to good music.

San Sebastian

Democratic by nature, San Sebastian nightclub has already received great names from the national and international electronic scene. The lighting is something else. The light system is signed by Lonardi Doná, also responsible for The Week, Lions and The Edge projects. The schedule there is intense, there is always a good party.

Amsterdam

This is a young nightclub of pop themed parties, in a funky atmosphere with disco floor and lounge, and cabins with open bar. At this night you will for sure get home or at the hotel when the sun comes up.
