From dinosaurs to playgrounds in restaurants, see how to enjoy with the little ones in Salvador
Taking a trip with a child requires a bit of organization. The ideal place is one that has, in addition to good service, entertainment for these energetic little beings. If you’ve ever wondered which restaurants, bars and spaces in Salvador are good to take children out to enjoy safely, this itinerary is for you. It’s important for parents or guardians to be able to take advantage of the city’s places even though they have little ones to take care of, isn’t it?
Therefore, Visit Salvador da Bahia brought together 15 places that have structures, with children’s playgrounds and monitoring, for example, so that you can leave home and enjoy the Bahian capital alongside the children.
Remember that all places listed follow protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Also, remember to use face shields – even for children over 2 years old – and also carry hand sanitizer in your bag. So yeah, here’s fun for the whole family.
1. Salvador Beach Club

Beach Club Salvador is a beachfront location that offers swimming pools and toys for children and their guardians. It is a space that guarantees fun for the whole family, with tables and gazebos facing the sea.

Entry: R$20.00 or R$50.00 to use the swimming pools. Paying for the swimming pool, you don’t need to pay for access.
2. Picuí
The Picuí restaurant offers Northeastern meats such as lamb, besides picanha, salmon with passion fruit sauce, drinks & sweets in a casual setting. The children’s playground has toys that are kept in a little house on the outside of the place.

3. Coco Bambu Bahia Restaurant and Events Space
The Coco Bambu restaurant is a space specializing in Bahian food, with an emphasis on seafood. The establishment has a very diverse menu and an exotic atmosphere, with a beautiful rustic and tropical decor.
The place also has live music and a monitored children’s playground equipped with many toys.

4. Porto Brasil
Located in Pituba, the Porto Brasil restaurant offers popular grilled and seafood cuisine in a relaxed, spacious environment with monitored kids’ space. The playground offers one of the most popular toys for children: the ball pit. And, for adults, the place serves drinks and a very cold beer.

5. Rancho do Cupim Salvador
Rancho do Cupim is famous for serving special meats on the grill, in addition to appetizers, side dishes and desserts. The restaurant has an open buffet lunch from Monday to Saturday and all-you-can-eat pizza every day.
The place is a steakhouse with portions of picanha (rump cap), chorizo, lamb carré and, of course, cupim (hump steak). Located in Pituaçu, the restaurant is on the seafront and, while parents or guardians enjoy the view and appetizing food, the children can enjoy the children’s playground, which is on the ground floor, at the back of the restaurant.

6. Boteco do Caranguejo – Patamares
In addition to having a range of crab options, the bar serves various appetizers, skewers, seafood, pastries and soups, as well as a variety of moquecas. The space also has a playground next to the tables, which is very spacious and equipped with toys for the kids to have fun.
The playground has a one-time fee for an unlimited time and children are monitored by professionals.

7. Bargaço
The Bargaço restaurant was inaugurated in 1971 and began what would be the landmark of Bahian food and seafood in Brazil. In addition to offering several types of moqueca, the establishment has a super spacious green area for children to have fun. The place also has a covered playground for children to enjoy even on rainy days.

8. Solar Amado Bahia – Ice Cream Museum
Located in Ribeira, the ice cream parlor is inside the Solar Amado Bahia Museum and you can pay a small fee to visit the space in addition to enjoying the goodies. You don’t need to pay to enter the ice cream parlor, only if you want to visit the museum.
The ice cream parlor has a relaxed atmosphere with a children’s area in a century-old building with original furniture on display.

9. Mundo Animal Lanchonete Temática (Animal World Themed Snack Bar)
A hamburger, fries and a dance with the lion! Mundo Animal, a network of themed snack bars, is a great option for those who want to have an interactive snack with the kids. The dishes on the menu are named after animals, such as elephant, rhinoceros, and of course, the lion – which is the space’s mascot.
One of the most desired specialties of the snack bar is the potato tower, known as batatão, consisting of french fries accompanied by different meats, fillings and various sauces served on a thermal plate. It’s for eating, having fun and interacting with the characters of the jungle, who are circulating in a space of more than 1,000 m².

10. Parque da Cidade
Located in Itaigara, Parque da Cidade has areas for running and walking, space for skateboarding and roller-skating, in addition to offering a vast green area, with various ornamental and fruit species, perfect for those who want to connect with nature. The place also has bicycle rental, where adults and children can enjoy together.

11. Parque dos Dinossauros
One of the most fascinating spaces for children, the park has several dinosaur statues scattered around the place, and children love to take pictures with them. You can even prepare a picnic, and enjoy sitting on the vast green grass.

12. Parque dos Ventos
The space, located in Boca do Rio, has several entertainment options for children. Parque dos Ventos has a skating rink, bicycle track, various toys in the playground, rappelling wall, sand court and slackline. 13. Jardim Botânico de Salvador (Salvador Botanical Garden)
This is another great space for those who want to get closer to nature and allow children to escape the city buzz. The Botanical Garden has huge trees and dense vegetation. The site is an area of study, maintenance and conservation of the Atlantic Forest in the capital of Bahia.

14. Sentollas Bar and Restaurant

15. Barravento Restaurant
With a privileged view of the Barra Lighthouse and the sea in Salvador, the Barravento restaurant has several dishes with seafood, pasta and risottos, as well as wines, draft beer and desserts.

The city hall of the Bahian capital began the green phase of the “Plano Salvador” for the resumption of economic activities, and since July 23, the city’s bars and restaurants began operating until 12:30 am. Remember that the use of a face mask and hand sanitizer are still necessary to avoid Covid-19 contamination. You can only remove the mask when eating or drinking. If you need to walk around the bar, wear a mask.
