Memory: the fundamental part of any fight. In order to preserve women’s memories, in 1923 the Women’s Institute of Bahia was founded, housing the Museum of Costume and Textiles. There, you have access to the collection of prom dresses and other period pieces. The imposing building also houses the Catharino Henriqueta Museum, with furniture, crystals, silverware among other precious things, and the Museum of Popular Art. Among the beautiful surprises and memories of women’s clothing, there are historical pieces, such as the dress worn by Princess Isabel when she signed the Golden Law (the Law that decreed the end of slavery in the country). It is an excellent source of studies for fashion researchers, designers and architects. Of the many collections, the jewels made of hair are super peculiar. Fantastic.
