Variety, style and modernity set the tone for the bar in Graça neighborhood

If you are still unfamiliar with the draft beer tap (from Tap Handle), which has been winning the heart of craft beer lovers, nothing better than visiting a place where you can find a dozen to choose from. The Chopp Shop is a stylish bar featuring ten taps of beer from Bahia, Brazil and around the world.
The chalk wall facing the counter says: On Tap! This is where you will identify a list of options available on the menu, numbered from one to ten, with the alcohol percentage, bitterness, and price of each. Some are more refreshing, others more eccentric. There are Ale, Sour, Bock, Wess, Larger, IPA and APA beers. There are beers for all taste. The difficult part is choosing from so many options.
One that draws attention is the Sorachi Berliner: a German-origin style that values the sensory profile of hops, originally developed in Japan, with aromas of lemon and lemongrass, with Sicilian lemon peels and a citrus and fruity profile. Ris Barrealanged (Potus), Acapulco Hop Lager (Stern) and Piveta American Ipa (Amada) are also excellent choices.
“The cool thing is that every week we add new beers, our menu varies a lot. Thus, our client has the opportunity to know productions of different brands, national and international”, explains sommelier Lívia Dumet.
You can count on the help of Lívia, who, along with partner Beto Castro Lima, search for the labels sold at the pub. According to your preference, the professional can tell you which craft beer is the best choice for your moment, offering a short tasting. A good idea to try more than one flavor is the tasting ruler, approved by the house’s customers, which has four 200ml glasses to quench your thirst.
When you start to feel hungry, only the appetizer menu can save you! Mini pizzas served on a wooden board, Argentinian empanadas of different flavors, flaky pastry burgers and the famous German sausage are ideal accompaniments for happy hour. By the way, the place offers a Jazz & Blues schedule on Thursdays and admission is free. Write it down.
Chopp Shop’s decor is something else. Walls completely enveloped by classic beer-themed posters give the space a super modern tone. This was a partnership work between the architect Heron Valladares Batista and the plastic artist Fabrício Branco. It also has a curious space with very low tables and chairs, as well as traditional tables. It also has small wooden counters with stools on the sides of the room, so you can settle in with your friends. It is worth mentioning: the anteroom is the perfect place to take a beautiful photo!
