History and Culture
Inaugurated in 1999, CAIXA Cultural Salvador is located in the Jesuit’s Old Prayer House, a 17th century property, protected by the National Historical Heritage Institute, completely restored by CAIXA, and it’s one more attraction for the visitor. There, the visitor can appreciate the excavations of the archaeological site and all the decorative details of this beautiful building. CAIXA Cultural Salvador develops a wide calendar of events that include exhibitions of different magnitudes, musical and theatrical performances, book launches, workshops, lectures and an important educational program focused on the different social groups.
